Things to do

Have you spotted any of the beautifully painted ducks dotted around? I found this one ‘Fizzy Pop and Salty Hair’ created by artist Sophie Malpas. The ducks are part of a ‘Wild in Art’ event in support of St Michaels Hospice.  Follow that Duck – St. Michael’s Hospice (stmichaelshospice.com)

A fabulous live art trail coming to the streets of Hastings and Rother

June 24th – September 4th 2022

Have you ever wondered what a 5ft rubber duck would look like?  Well, look no further – we are turning the familiar Rubber Duck into a spectacular public art event that will flap, waddle and swim from Hastings Old Town to Bexhill on Sea.  Grab your binoculars and your walking shoes and Follow that Duck.

For ten weeks in the summer of 2022 the streets, gardens and beaches of Hastings, St Leonards and Bexhill on Sea will be brought to life by a flock of fabulous Rubber Duck sculptures. Each giant duck will be hand decorated with individually created designs, many of which will showcase the wealth of artistic talent within East Sussex.  The ducks will create a free, fun, family friendly live art trail which will play an integral part in the economic, cultural and social recovery of Hastings and Rother, enticing locals and visitors back into our beautiful local area.
